# What Is TimeKeeper? Automated Frontline Time Tracking

> TimeKeeper uses the BreakPoint wearable to automate clock-ins, break tracking, and clock-outs — eliminating paper timesheets and attendance errors.

TimeKeeper transforms how frontline teams track attendance by replacing paper timesheets and manual punch clocks with wearable-powered automation. Workers clock in with a simple tap of their BreakPoint device, breaks are detected automatically as workers enter and exit designated break zones, and overtime thresholds trigger real-time alerts before costs spiral. Every event flows instantly to the BreakPoint Console, giving supervisors and HR teams a live, accurate view of who is on the floor, who is on break, and who has yet to arrive — all without any manual data entry.

## What TimeKeeper Does

TimeKeeper handles the three core pillars of frontline attendance management:

* **Tap-to-clock**: Workers clock in and out by tapping their wearable at a designated clock-in zone. The device confirms each event with a haptic buzz and LED flash so workers know the tap registered.
* **Automatic break detection**: When a worker enters a configured Break Area zone, TimeKeeper starts a break timer automatically. When they leave, the timer stops. No manual tap required.
* **Smart overtime tracking**: TimeKeeper monitors cumulative hours against your configured daily and weekly thresholds, sending pre-overtime warnings to supervisors before a worker crosses into overtime territory.

## Why TimeKeeper Matters

Manual attendance processes introduce errors that cost time and money. Paper timesheets go missing, buddy punching inflates payroll, and spreadsheet-based overtime calculations lag hours behind reality. TimeKeeper eliminates these failure points by tying every clock event to a physical wearable device and a verified location. Because clock-ins are validated against clock-in zones, a tap from across the parking lot will not register as a valid shift start — keeping your attendance records honest and defensible.

Real-time attendance visibility also changes how supervisors operate. Instead of finding out at end-of-shift that three workers never clocked in, you see the gap on the live attendance board the moment it opens and can act immediately.

## How It Works

The TimeKeeper workflow is straightforward by design:

1. **Worker taps their wearable** at the designated clock-in zone at the start of their shift.
2. **The wearable sends the event** to the BreakPoint cloud over the facility's network connection.
3. **The Console updates the attendance log** in real time — the worker's status changes from "Expected" to "Clocked In" on the live workforce map and attendance board.
4. **Throughout the shift**, zone transitions for breaks are captured automatically, and the running hour total is compared against overtime thresholds continuously.
5. **At shift end**, the worker taps again to clock out, closing the shift record and making it available for export.

## What TimeKeeper Does Not Do

TimeKeeper is a time-capture and compliance tool, not a payroll calculation engine. It does not compute gross wages, apply tax withholdings, or generate pay stubs. Instead, it produces clean, validated attendance records — with clock-in/out times, break durations, and overtime flags — that you export directly into your payroll platform. BreakPoint supports exports to common payroll and workforce management systems, so your payroll team works from accurate data without re-keying anything.

## Requirements

Before enabling TimeKeeper for your workforce, confirm the following are in place:

| Console access      | Supervisor or admin role required to configure shifts and review records   |
